You can install the “Check & Log Email” plugin and verify if your UM Settings are correct and UM is sending the expected emails.
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/check-email/
If emails are being sent from UM your issue is during the email transport to the user email client’s inbox. This might be your web hosting email server setup or gmail considering your emails being spam.
To avoid most of theses email transport issues you should use a secure email connection by using the SMTP protocol.
Read this guide how you can start to setup this secure email SMTP connection:

Thanks for the prompt reply. I installed the “Check & Log Email” plugin and sent a test email but it didn’t arrive either…. Is something wrong configured?
@danidiaz13
You can ask your Web Hosting support if they have an issue with their email server.
Did you get a copy of the UM Notification emails in the “Check & Log Email” plugin log file?
Select and install a SMTP plugin will give you secure email transport.
I have just seen that the test emails for the “Check & Log Email” plugin have arrived to my gmail spam folder but the ones for the UM form to create an account have not arrived
