I read that with Version 1.0 of this plugin WordPress comments, related posts, and menu will work out of the box without altering your theme for paired mode?

Yes, that’s right. Version 1.0 allows you to re-use your active theme’s templates and stylesheet in AMP. Note that the new native/paired template modes are best suited for sites that are known to use themes and plugins that are AMP-compatible. There are not many yet, but the core themes are compatible with AMP. We’ll be contributing to plugins to make them compatible as well. In general if a theme or plugin is not designed to be AMP-compatible then it will behave as if JavaScript is disabled since custom JavaScript is not allowed in AMP; the plugin strips it out. Note also that AMP only allows 50KB of CSS, and if you add more than this to the page then the plugin will try to automatically reduce it by stripping out rules that are not used. However, if it can’t strip enough rules then it will end up excluding CSS entirely. Read more about 1.0-RC2: https://make.xwp.co/2018/11/05/amp-plugin-release-v1-0-rc2/
