Could you clarify some details?
1) What WP version do you have installed?

3) If you did all the steps described above and you still have the issues please provide the information about what exactly errors do you see after the update? Please provide debug.log or some screenshots.

No thanks. 2.1 worked but 2.1.1 throws a whole screen of red errors. Not trying that again just for a screenshot. I will wait till all the inevitable ‘hotfixes’ have stopped and the plugin is stable again before updating
