• When updating Visibility Logic for Elementor to 2.3.9 (from 2.3.5.1) suddenly I was seeing English and Dutch text simultaneously, where this is normally controlled via the language switch, so a user sees either English or Dutch.

A rollback to Visibility Logic for Elementor 2.3.5.1 solved the issue. (It can’t be blamed on something else.)

Any clues anybody? Any developer reading this…?

    Thanks, Roy

    Hi John,

Thanks for being on top of this 🙂

On my live site the issue is now gone, thanks to a rollback to version 2.3.5.1. You can however see it on a recent staging version: https://wordpress-928841-5245783.cloudwaysapps.com/my-courses

Without logging you can see both the Dutch and the English login option on that page. Or login with a free account, you can see more.

I have applied Restrict by language for a section.

    Good luck,

    Hi there,

Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

In regards to the query here, it seems that you are using another plugin to implement the “Restrict by language” condition as the Visibility Logic for Elementor plugin does not include this feature, and there hence could be a possible conflict between that plugin and our plugin.

I would hence recommend reaching out to the plugins support team about this matter.

    Kind Regards

    Hi John,

The issue was resolved by a rollback to 2.3.5.1, so I it must be related in some way to Visibility Logic for Elementor. Maybe the setting I mentioned is not where it goes wrong.

What I am seeing – and maybe you have seen it too – is two different versions of the same text, in both Dutch and English, in some cases a bit on top of each other, so you can’t read one version completely.

This is the case with Visibility Logic for Elementor 2.3.9, that you can see in action on my staging site as described.

    Any clue?

    Thanks, Roy

    Hi Roy,

Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

In this case, as I had earlier on highlighted, this is a conflict between a plugin within your site and the latest release Visibility Logic for Elementor plugin. Do you mind letting us know the plugins that you are using to implement this visibility setting so that we can see if there is anything we can do about this?

I look forward to your reply.

    Kind Regards

    Hi John,

Thanks for not giving up… 🙂

I am using Restrict by language – I always thought it was part of Elementor by default, maybe you know better.

Please have a look at my staging site that I mentioned earlier, where you can see the problem:

    https://wordpress-928841-5245783.cloudwaysapps.com/my-courses

If you create a free account for yourself on this staging site, I can change your role to admin, so you’ll have access to the back-end.

Would that be a feasible way to deal with this?

    Best,

    Roy

    Hi there,

Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

In this case, the “Restrict by language” functionality is not a feature present in Elementor. I have reviewed your system status and I noticed that you are using the “TranslatePress – Multilingual” plugin. This is the plugin that is adding that functionality. I have also tested the “Restrict by language” functionality alongside the Visibility Logic for Elementor version 2.3.9 and the functionality does work as expected. Based on this, and since this is an issue relating to another plugin, I would recommend that you consult the “TranslatePress – Multilingual” plugins’ support team about the issue.

    I hope this information helps.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for this.

Hard for me to judge whether TranslatePress causes the issue or Visibility Logic. It did start with upgrading Visibility Logic to 2.3.9 and disappeared after a rollback…

You say the functionality works as expected, which is true on some pages. But not on the page I showed you: …/my-courses.

Did you see the issue there?

    Best, Roy

    Hi there,

Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

In this case, the link that you are referring to requires one to be logged in to access it. This forum however does not support posting or accepting offers or requests for login information to a site.
Since the issue here also involves the TranslatePress plugin, I would recommend that you check with the plugin’s support team what could be the actual cause of the issue within the page that you suggest.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Kind Regards

    Okay, will do.

But it feels like I am solving your issues. What will they say when I report that it started when upgrading Visibility Logic to 2.3.9 and disappeared after a rollback…??

Also, you don’t have to login to see the issue… There are 2 login screens on the page, in English and Dutch. That is the issue!

    Cheers,

    Roy

    Hi there,

Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

In your case here, the visibility condition is being administered by the TranslatePress plugin. The reason why I’m requesting you to contact the plugin support team is because they are more knowledgeable about their product. If there are any conflicts with our plugin, they will be in a better position to point these out and share insights on what could be the cause of conflict. With this done, then you can share this information with us so that we can check this further and determine if a fix is necessary and if so, it does not affect other components in our plugin.

    I hope this information helps.

    Kind regards

I’ve reported the bug in 2.3.9 and I really don’t have the time to troubleshoot this any further. Terribly sorry.

Maybe you can contact them before you release a new version.

For now I’ll stick with the older version of Visibility Logic.

    Good luck!

    Hi there,

Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

In this case, as we are not in a position to replicate the issue from our end, we are hence not in a position to contact them about this. We would appreciate that if they happen to identify any conflicts being caused by our plugin, then they can share more details about the issue and you can then relay this information to us so that we can analyze this information from our end.

    Kind Regards
