Having updated to version 4.3.3 I get the following message on all my websites where this is installed “The plugin zero-spam/zero-spam.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.”

All the recent updates seem to be causing several issues. As such I will be deactivating this plugin on all my sites until a settled version is available.

I hope the problems can be resolved, as this plugin (in its old version) worked well.

    Thanks, Chris

Per the changelog, v4 was a complete rewrite. It’s expected that the plugin is deactivated when going from 3 – 4 because of that rewrite. If there are issue with the current version of the plugin, please provide specifics & either post them here or in the issue queue: https://github.com/bmarshall511/wordpress-zero-spam

Thank you very much for the explanation Ben. I was aware of it being a full re-write, but not necessarily the implications of that. Having now activated the latest version of the plugin, I then had to go into settings and click ‘Save’ without making any changes to clear a php error. All appears fine now on the standard settings, thanks.

The principle reason I use this plugin is to work with WPForms to eliminate spam. Do I need to do anything else Ben?

    Cheers, Chris

Nope, but would be curious what PHP error you were seeing. Shouldn’t have any, but if there are wanna get it taken care of so other people to see it.

This is the notice when clicking on the plugins settings ‘Undefined index: log_blocked_ips’

    Location ‘wp-content/plugins/zero-spam/inc/admin.php:542’

    Hope that helps, Chris

Perfect! Thanks for that. I found the issue & will be fixed in the next release. Created an issue for it here https://github.com/bmarshall511/wordpress-zero-spam/issues/191 so you can keep track of the progress.

Thanks again for letting me know!
