Version 5 Confusion!

    I have a couple of WP sites and they both have different V5 problems:

    1. The dashboard is saying”You have the latest version of WordPress.” when it is version 4.9.8 and it does not want to update to V5

    2. Has automatically updated to V5 but my pages/posts are still using the classic editor. Creating a new page does not present the new block editor. I thought with V5 the block editor was now the default?

    Any help would be appreciated
