Upon moving to version 6.15.1, my website slowed down completely and I was consistently getting 504 Gateway errors. Then I restored version 6.14.2 and performance was great again. Today I tried 6.15.2 and performance was just as bad as 6.15.1.

My PHP is 8.4. I do have a high number of calendar events, about 150, if that matters. I don’t use a website builder. The other major plugin is Woocommerce.

    Hi @joanneburek ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

To help us better understand the situation and help in the investigation, could you provide the version of the following?

    1. PHP
    2. WordPress
    3. Events Calendar Pro (if using)
    4. Event Tickets (if using)
    5. Event Tickets Plus (if using)
    6. Theme and Version

Could you also share the pages (i.e., admin dashboard -> events list, front-end -> events archive) where performance degradation is apparent?

    (@joanneburek)

    PHP is 8.4
    WordPress is 6.8.2
Using only the free version of The Events Calendar, not Pro
Not using Event Tickets or Event Tickets Plus
    Theme is GeneratePress, 3.6.0

The performance degradation is on all pages—home page (even in private window), admin screens—everywhere.

We’re seeing the same thing since upgrading to 6.15.

    Hi @joanneburek @galeassim

Thanks for your message. Toniq has shared a workaround that may help with the issue you’re experiencing. Could you please try the recommendations in this thread and see if it makes a difference on your end? As always, we suggest testing it on your staging site first before applying it to your live site.

If the workaround doesn’t resolve the issue, could you share any relevant server logs (such as error logs or database logs) from when the issue occurs? That information would be very helpful for our investigation.

Rest assured, our team is aware of the problem and we’ll keep you updated as soon as more details become available.

The recommendation to empty the shepherd table in the database worked immediately. Thank you!
