How can I reduce the vertical space between column items? They obviously dynamically adjust with the available width of the screen, but I want a way to make the vertical space static.

I’ve looked through all previous questions and see that you suggest using margins in the tool, but that really only seems to adjust the horizontal space between rows.

  • Hi @sharpoffice

Thank you very much for conatcting us and hope you doing well.

Kindly go into the image shortcode editing page and increase your image width also height based on width. For example, set 500px for width so the maximum of 500px will work into your sites.

It happened as your site comes with a full screen and an image set small. so others come as white spaces on the body.

Thank you for the reply, but that won’t work. It just makes the tiles massive and out of proportion for the rest of the design of the page. I want to keep the tiles relatively small and have the gaps between them closed up to bring them closer together.

Hello. I’m still waiting for a reply here. It’s been 2 weeks.

    Hi @sharpoffice

We are sorry for the late reply. In your image, it’s horizontal space as you indicate which is working with image width and margin tools.

Vertical space works with margin and padding so go into image settings and make them 0 as margin top and margin botton. Also reduce padding top and bottom to minimum size.

Thank you for the reply, but I’m starting to realise you don’t really understand what I’m asking. In image 1 below, this is before the changes you just asked me to do.

    https://ibb.co/fMypTJt

In image 2 below, I’ve applied what you suggested, and as you can see (and as I knew before applying them) it changes the horizontal space between the top and bottom row, not the vertical space between the columns.

I’ve also marked up image 2 with the space I’m trying to reduce, just so you have a good visual of what it is I mean.

Please get back to me as soon as you can. We really need to launch this new page (and relative child pages) and this is holding us up big time.

    Thanks

    Hi @sharpoffice

We already told you that increasing your image witdth those spaces will reduce automatically.

For example, the total row size is 1278px and there have 5 images and you set the image max width to 149px only. so those extra spaces come as white spaces.

On the other hand, check your image https://sharpoffice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/SmlMedBus01.png , there have extra white spaces which we can’t remove without resizing your image.

We suggest you create those images again to give full width to the icon or your rounded text. and finally set the image width to 100%. If your text like bigger than standard text kindly reduces it while customizing your image.

Okay, we’re just going around in circles here… Yes, I know you already told me to increase the image width, to which I had already replied that I don’t want to do that because it makes the tiles too large for the design I want. The buttons end up looking enormous and I don’t want that. Again, something I’ve already said.

And yep, you’ve pointed out the white space I’ve purposefully left on the images, which is has been set to exactly the right amount of white space I deliberately want to leave between them. Meaning I want to have the gap between them set to 0 and let the white space I’ve left around the images be the gaps.

I don’t know how much clearer I can be. I feel like you know what I want, but the product can’t do it, and instead of conceding and saying that it can’t, you keep dancing around with fixes that I already know won’t work.

You’ve now sent me the same 2 solutions to the problem twice, and I’ve had to respond to them twice. We’ve paid for the premium upgrade and I’ve been very patient, but I’m getting frustrated. I need to get this page and it’s children running ASAP, and if it can’t be done, then just tell me it can’t be done so we can all move on.

You can close this ticket off. I solved it myself with a CSS edit (see below).
