• Hello,
I have just installed WordPress on Hostmonster using the Frugal Theme–that was all much easier than I expected. And I have imported all posts from my old Blogger–no problem (I thought that would be the hard part), fixed categories and tags.

But, I cannot work out how to upload a header image or logo. I copied and pasted and read the text from Codex, but I still can’t work it out. I googled and read other bloggers’ help, but the things I can’t work out are these:

    1. Do you upload it directly to wordpress from your PC?
    2. If so, where do you do this from in WordPress?
    3. And, where does it end up being saved in WordPress?
    4. Or do you have to host it at your host (Hostmonster) and transfer it from there?
    5. If so, still, where does that land in WordPress so you can do something with it?
    6. My theme gives me the option of inserting the image name, for the header (as a jpg, etc), but I can’t see where it’s uploaded to, to do that in the first place.

I’m really, truly sorry if this is taking up someone’s time and it’s been answered before. If there is a link to some place that explains this, I’d appreciate it. When I read the codex, it made some reference to a “site” without explaining what site that was, when talking about the header image. If it’s obvious, I’m not seeing it.

    Thank you very much.

  • normally, header images go into the images folder within your theme….on your host

so in your from your wordpress directory go to wp-content-> themes -> your theme -> images (or whatever the images directory is named)

from there…depends on your theme….you said yours has the option to just tell it the name of the image and you are good? so maybe this is all you need?

If that doesn’t work, you may have to adjust a bit of code in your style.css file or something….
