Thank you for pointing this out. The issues that had led to the temporary deactivation of the plugin have already been resolved – the plugin is fully available again. We will also review the additional vulnerability reported by Wordfence.

For one of my own projects, I resolved this issue in a personal reporitory, until it is resolved in the official plugin. You can find the fix to this issue and others here: https://github.com/2ndkauboy/vgw-metis/releases/tag/2.x
Just download the “Source code (zip)” and upload it to your WordPress installation, overwriting the current version. As soon as VG Wort releases a new version – hopefully including these fixes – you will be able to update to the new official version.
