Video in Header?

    Is it possible to put a mp4 file in the header? I have tried but have been unsuccessful.

    If you have the GP Hooks addon, you can add it into the header super easily.

    First, I would use some sort of video embedding plugin for MP4s.

    Then insert the shortcode into the appropriate Hook in “Appearance > GP Hooks”.

    If you don’t have the addon, it’s a little trickier – but I believe you have it 🙂

    Many thanks. Yes I do have GP hook addon but didn’t know what it was for.

    Can you suggest a video embedding plugin. All the ones I’ve checked have not been updated to work with WP3.9.2

    Well I’ve been struggling with this for a few hours. I think I need a little more help.

    I have downloaded an mp4 file from Shutterstock to use as my header but I can’t seem to get it to load. I’ve uploaded it to my Media Library and tried entering [quicktime]http://mapenterprises.info/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/3730889.mp4[/quicktime] in wp_head of GeneratePress Hooks.

    I’ve installed video-embedder and videojs-html5-video-player-for-wordpress but can’t really figure out either of them.

    I suspect that the problem may be the URL but I really don’t know. Can you help?

    I’m travelling right now. Won’t be back home for a week. Will try to find time to work on it while I’m away but not sure if I’ll be able to do it. Will let you know for sure once I get a chance to try it.

    I’m back home again now and able to try to get this working. So far no luck.

    I’ve installed the videojs video embedder as you suggested and in the GP Hooks I have entered [videojs mp4=”http://mapenterprises.ca/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/header.mp4″ height=”960″ width=”540″] in the Before Header Content option.

    All it does is show the code on the page. Please see http://mapenterprises.ca/

    Any other ideas?

    Not to worry. I made an animated .gif file instead and I’m OK using it.

    Sorry you couldn’t get it to work.

    GP Hooks accepts shortcodes, so I’m not sure why it wouldn’t render the shortcode.

    Glad you found an alternative 🙂
