• Hi,
Here is what I am looking to achieve. When people come to the site, I want the site to be super searchable and for users to find anything they want using the search bar (powered by SearchWP).

I have a bunch of tutorial videos for my site. Currently, a video is embedded on a page using YouTube.

However, I do have the video transcript in a word file. Ideally, I’d love to place the text of this transcript in the meta data or something so that anything mentioned in the video is entirely searchable in the search engine.

My only option right now is posting the transcript on the page as a word file (as SearchWP indexes all content of a word file, making it searchable and showing the parent article a file is attached to), but that’s not exactly what I am looking to do.
Anyone got any ideas? Such as hiding the word file, but it still being searchable in the search engine?

No experience with it, but the SearchWP plugin’s features page says it can search for “Custom Fields content”. Any reason why you’re not adding your transcript as a custom field?

I’m also wondering why you’re not adding the transcript to the page or post where the video is embedded (either directly, or via custom field). This would have the added benefit of making your content more accessible to the hearing compared who can’t hear the audio in your video, and might even give you a bump up in the search engines.

    Good luck, and stay safe!
