Make sure that the videos are also embedded with https:// URLs.

Safari will not load HTTP content embedded on an HTTPS page.

I have tried that, but it still didn’t work

What is the URL of the post or page with the problem?

Ah, you mean the background videos.

Interesting, Safari 13.0.5 is actually loading the videos, just not displaying them.

Do the same videos work if you add them to a post or page with a Video Block? https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/video-block/

The Videos work normally if I get it back to HTTP (remove Cloudflare) which is what I am using for SSL certification

Ok, so they do _not_ work if you add them to a post or page with a Video Block? https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/video-block/

If so, this may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

the problem now is with Cloudflare plugin. If I deactivate it and convert my website to HTTP the videos will appear again in Safari, but the website won’t open in most browsers as it thinks the website is an unsecured website. So whenever I enable the HTTPS plugin or Cloudflare plugin, the videos do not play in safari; but they play in all other browsers. But I can’t really disable HTTPS and make my website vulnerable. At the same time I can’t find a way to make the videos work in Safari while on HTTPS

Instead of using a plugin for HTTPS, use the Cloudflare plugin only, and then follow these steps: https://make.ww.wp.xz.cn/support/user-manual/web-publishing/https-for-wordpress/

I have done the steps that the article asked me to, but it still hadn’t work. I am only using Cloudflare but the issue is still there

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

If you use the Twenty Twenty theme, can you add a video via the Video Block to a post or page without issue?

    Thread Starter shok2827

    (@shok2827)

If I have the Cloudflare plugin activated don’t think so

    (@macmanx)

Would you please check? This is important.

    (@shok2827)

Just tried it. The videos aren’t playing anywhere now

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Well yeah, no they won’t play on the front page since that was a feature of your theme.

That is why I have been specifically asking you to create a test post or page, and add the same video to its content with a Video Block: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/video-block/

Does it work like that under the Twenty Twenty theme?

If so, does it work like that (again, inserted as a Video Block into the content of a post or page) on your preferred theme?

Please, knowing this is important for the next steps.
