Videos on Hover Effect

I am trying to incorporate a way to have a small video clip autoplay that corresponds to each article and have it autoplay when a user hover’s over the article Featured Image from the home page that is showing the latest posts.

Ideally, I would love to develop a plugin for this but not sure how to go about adding a box in ‘Posts’ and name it ‘Featured Video’ and use whatever is uploaded from that to play when the user hovers of the ‘Featured Image’ on the homepage.

Any ideas of how to make this work?
