    Hi,

I have added the ?dnt=1 URL parameter to a Vimeo video so that it is not tracked. My issue is I can’t get the video to play, even if I add the cookies to ‘Necessary’.

I have tried removing the script URL pattern as suggested in this thread:

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/vimeo-player-cookie-for-user-prefrences/

I have also tried adding all Vimeo cookies to necessary, but the video still has the ‘Please accept cookies to access this content’ notice.

    Thanks,

    Stephen

As an update, I hadn’t dealt with all Vimeo cookies. I moved them all to Necessary and it works as expected.

As I have do not track enabled, is this the right approach? Users might think cookies are being set when they aren’t. Can we remove the cookie from CookieYes altogether?

    Hi @stephenbbs,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

If your issue has been fixed by moving all the Vimeo cookies to Necessary category, please make sure that Vimeo doesn’t set any cookies to the browser if “dnt” is enabled. If it’s still setting cookies in the browser, we do not recommend to remove them from the banner. Also it’s recommended to review Vimeo’s privacy features, terms of use, and data processing practices, and consider seeking legal advice to ensure you’re meeting your obligations under GDPR and other relevant regulations.

    Thank you for your reply!

When I inspect element then ‘storage’ I see ‘player.vimeo.com’, but nothing set – so no entries under ‘name’, ‘value’, ‘domain’ etc. I think this means nothing is being set, as I can see values for other cookies once accepted. Does this seem correct? I can provide the site, but would need to do it via PM.

    Hi @stephenbbs,

If cookies are not set in browser, then you can remove that cookie from Cookie Manager or perform a scan to update the cookie list.
