    If you’re able to access your site using that URL then it should work.
    Please try the migration and let us know if you face any issues.

    I did try an ftp migration yesterday just before posting my previous question, so at around 1800hrs GMT, and also just now but both attempts failed with the error message ‘something went wrong’.

    Support confirmed that my path setting was incorrect, it should be the ftp relative path rather than the full server directory path. Entering the path as /public_html fixed it.
