After my updating with wordpress 4.4.2….

When I go on my Portfolio Items, the message is:
Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.
It looks like this was the result of either:

    a mistyped address
    an out-of-date link

I tried to re-save my permalinks and de-activeted all plug-ins and reactividet them. Nothing helped. Any ideas left? Appreciate your help!

  • What version of the theme are you currently on?
Can you confirm that you’re on version 2.6.6?

    Any Ideas?

Check and make sure that the menu item that is linking to that page didn’t get changed.

Can you still access the page via your admin pages area? I would check through there to see if somehow the page URL is different than the one that you shared.

Hi Kevin, checked all that and nothing helped.

Well, I think a potential work around would be for you to go into that page’s settings, and change the permalink to something different.

Then, go into your menu and create a custom menu item that has a link to that page.
See if that allows the page to exist again.

Sorry I can’t really think of any reason as to why this is happening. Give that work around a try and let me know if it helps.

If not, the theme developer will see this thread sooner or later and have more information for us.

schaabe, sorry for the delay. are you using pagebuilder and polylang? There is a conflict with those plugins that breaks all custom post types.

Sorry, I was offline for a few days… Thank you both very much for your help!!
I Changed the permalinks to the very first option (simple) and then the links to the portfolio items worked again. Now the permalinks look ugly, but at least it works. Like that: http://event-for-sport.de/?page_id=629&lang=de

And yes I use pagebuilder and polylang – I might change that sooner or later. Any recommendations for a new translation plug in like polylang?
But anyway – thanks for the support!

    schaabe,
For a multilingual plugin we love WPML. But if you’re just looking to translate something like this would work well- https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/loco-translate/

Hi Hannah, I just want to switch between the german and the english sites.. I do not want the program to translate for me, I did that myself. the switching worked well with polylang, is WPML doing the same?
If I deactive polylang now, are my english pages all gone?

WPML is not free. It’s good but not free. Polylang is good except this issue with pagebuilder.

One thing you can do it deactivate pagebuilder and install version 2.0.5 https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/siteorigin-panels.2.0.5.zip

    Then they would work.

Sorry been away couple of days… Have the same issue with another website, polylang and (maybe) pagebuilder. when I try to upload your zip file, wordpress says, that it already has been installed. Should I delete my page buider version 2.4.4 totally and install your version 2.0.5?? I am not an expert and I am really afraid, that everything looks weird afterwards…
    thank you!

    Hey schaabe,
You should be safe to delete 2.4.4 and activate 2.0.5! Let us know if you experience any issues.
