    Hi there –
I have a Godaddy account that has multiple WordPress websites deployed on it. I keep getting infected with malware (Bodelen malware) and it is able to jump from one of my sites to the next.

I’ve used your plugin multiple times to scan and successfully clean all the infected files, however within a few days the malware will return/re-infect.

Any suggestions on what else I can do? Could the fact that I’m on a Godaddy shared server mean anything – ie. could the malware be jumping from another godaddy account into my account and infecting my WordPress instances?

Your typical shared hosting account just isn’t designed to contain or restrict the spread of these types of threats. All the mega cheap shared hosting providers use the same fundamentally flawed hosting environment that makes it easy for this kind of malware to replicate onto every site on every account.

You are facing an uphill battle if you leave your sites on that server. My plugin will make it easier for you to clean the site, and the built-in firewall will help to protect each of your sites from outside attacks, but firewalls cannot stop threats from replicating across all your sites if they are already on the inside. You may need to clean your site multiple times to get them totally clean and there is no guarantee that they will stay clean on that server if the threat is coming in from another infected account that is not taken care of. If you go through the complete cleaning process on all your sites a few more times and the threats keep coming back then I would suggest that you move your sites to a more secure hosting environment.
