Hi, I’ve been using WP Statistic for a while, but recently I noticed a drop in the number of visitors on my website. Upon investigating, I realized that the ‘last view’ and ‘visitor’ data only track visitors from the browser we usually use.

However, it doesn’t record visits from the Facebook browser, as there’s no Facebook icon showing at all. This is why the visitor count seems low, even though there are still many online visitors coming from Facebook—they’re just not being recorded.

I don’t use caching because my website is dynamic. I only use Cloudflare Standard. I’m not sure if this is a bug or a settings issue, as I’ve tried everything but it’s still the same.

    Hi @anonymouscompany,

    Thanks for your detailed explanation.

I ran a test on my side using the Facebook app and its in-app browser to visit a live website.
From what I observed, the visits were correctly tracked without any issues.

To verify traffic from Facebook, you can go to Statistics > Visitor Insights and check the Referrer column.
If users are coming from Facebook, it should appear there as the traffic source.

Also, please check the following setting:

    • Navigate to Statistics > Settings > Filtering and Exceptions
    • Make sure no specific IP addresses are being blocked, as that might affect tracking.
    • In Statistics > Settings > Location Detection Method,
set the method to Cloudflare IP Geolocation, especially since your site is using Cloudflare.

It doesn’t appear to be a plugin conflict, but to be thorough:
Try temporarily disabling all other plugins except WP Statistics and see if the issue persists.
This can help determine if something else is interfering.

Let me know what you find—happy to continue investigating with you.

Hi, thanks again for your detailed response and suggestions.

In the Visitor Insights, I can see some traffic from Facebook under the Referrer column, so that part seems to be working. However, the main issue is that the tracking appears to stop updating or is delayed. For example, the Last View still shows the last visitor at 2 PM, even though there were users accessing the site around 5 PM.

I know for certain that visitors came to the site around that time because some of them registered and even made purchases. I also received email notifications confirming their registrations, so it’s clear that the visits occurred — but they’re not reflected accurately or in real-time in the statistics.

This is especially important because I’m running Facebook ads, and a lot of the traffic is coming through those ads.

    I’ve checked the following:

    • No IP addresses are being blocked under Statistics > Settings > Filtering and Exceptions
    • The Location Detection Method is set to the one recommended by WP Statistics

Appreciate your help and support—thank you!

    Best regards

    Mehmet

    Hi @anonymouscompany,

    Thanks again for the information.

Some in-app browsers (like Facebook’s) may block JavaScript, affecting tracking.

Please go to Statistics > Settings > General and enable “Bypass Ad Blockers”.

Also, if possible, open your Facebook ad link from the Facebook app and check if the visit is recorded.

Also, check if your hosting uses server-level or object caching (like Redis/Memcached), as this may delay updates.

Please also ensure you’re using the latest version of WP Statistics.
