• Hi – When I switch to edit mode on a page or post, the text editor is showing the content and code, but it won’t let me switch to the visual editor. I have followed all the usual suggestions about deactivating all plugins and switching to the 2015 theme; also re-installed WordPress – none of the above made any difference.

    Then found the instructions in Codex: “Using Your Brower to Diangose JavaScript Errors” Step #2: Enable SCRIPT_DEBUG – so I turned on script debugging and this fixed the issue. So the instructions are to turn off script debugging and report this issue on the forum – so here it is. Please help? What’s next?

    Thanks

    Looking back over all the support threads for the past few days/weeks, there seems to be quite a few of us having this same issue. I did find one thread that has been resolved: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/white-text-while-posting?replies=3

    Can the experts tell me if this fix would apply in my situation? Is this a bug in the latest WordPress version?

    Your help is most appreciated – trying to get my site launched….

    This apparently fixed the visual/text editor problem, however, I would still like to find out why?

    -Try adding this to the your active theme’s wp-config.php file above the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ line so it looks like this: define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false);

    Can anyone out there please explain what happened and why this fixed it?
    Thanks!
