In fact, nothing really seems to be working, can’t save any changes I am trying to add even in the text editor.

A few ways to diagnose this. One option is to seek a working baseline. With the Twenty Twenty theme temporarily activated and all plugins except for SO CSS temporarily deactivated, does the issue resolve?

Thanks for your help, turns out it was Gutenberg causing this and a host of other issues!

Super, glad to hear you’re making progress. Thanks for the update. You can perhaps try patching the other issues with https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/. It’ll also let you know which plugins and or your theme have functions that need to be updated.
