Visual Editor not working 4.4.2

    Hello,

    I am rather new to Word Press and do not have a lot of background in it or in managing websites in general. The website that I am now managing, is one that I inherited and thus I don’t know a whole lot about it. With all that said I am going to try to describe the problem I am having…

    Whenever I go into this one specific page to edit, the visual editor does not appear. None of the words from previous blogging appear either. There are only squiggly red lines like those you see under misspelled words. If I highlight the editing window, then I can see html text and am able to delete and type however I have no idea how to write in html. If I go to any other page, post, etc, the visual editor is there and functions properly. It is only this one specific page where it occurs.

    I have attempted to do all of the steps on the Master List, however these have not helped. I have tried using the Google Libraries plug in and that has not helped. I do not have an FTP set up because the website was initially set up by someone else and I don’t have the log in for the host to set it up (currently contacting the person who set up the site). Therefore, I can’t edit any of the files which I’m not sure would help anyway.

    Unfortunately, it is really the only page that requires regular updating. I am lost on what I can do at this point. I have tried searching this forum for hours and cannot find a solution. Please help.

    Hi shish18,

    I’m no expert, but I’ll try maybe to give you a few ideas. Did you try to disable all plugins and then check ? If it works then enable plugins one by one and try to determine which one messes it up for you.

    Another thing could be adblock in your browser. If you maybe have AdBlock Plus or any other adblocker try disabling it, delete cache from your browser and try again.

    I did try disabling all the plug-ins and that did work once but is no longer working to fix the problem. It also worked a couple of times over the past month by switching to default theme but that doesn’t work anymore either. I’ve tried deleting cache and clearing my browser history. Nothing works. I doubt its an adblock because the visual editor seems to function on all the other pages/posts. It’s just this one specific page that it doesn’t work. Thanks for the suggestions though.
