Visual Editor not working

    For the last month or so the visual editor is not working on my site. I can only type on the html side, but that is not optimal for me. This happened around the time of the 4.6 update. Since I haven’t been using the site, it wasn’t a priority, but now it is.

    Has anyone come up with a legitimate fix? I have not added any new pluggins and I already tried disabling recently updated plugins, clearing the cache/cookies.

    What theme are you using? Is the standard visual editor or is it another visual editor you are using?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
