Visual/HTML editor: enter becomes a <br>

Hi 😉 I’ve got a little problem with the posts’ editor.

I’m trying to switch froma basic html/php site to WordPress blog and while I’m posting something, I’m using a lot of html.
Unluckily for me, the HTML editor changes ‘enter’ into </br>(even between tags). I don’t use visual editor, I don’t feel like doing that 😉

Back to the point. How can I avoid changing ‘enter’ into an appearing line?
I really prefer having the code clear and simple – which is something I can get using new lines in the html.
