Do you have W3TC configured to preload the cache?
Peace…
No should I check both…
-Automatically prime the page cache
-Prime post cache on publish.
?
Just checked both and the site both front and back end, slowed down to a crawl.
Unchecked saved, deactivated, reactivated site is back to normal.
But I know in a few days it will slow down again so something is wrong.
I had the same problem. Can anyone confirm if this is fixed in the latest version?
I’m still having speed issues when using W3TC over time.
Again the main thing I can identify is when my site slows and I try to deactivate W3TC it hangs. When I finally am able to deactivate and reactivate the plugin my website is back to being fast. However over the course of a week it starts to slow down more and more every day.
Using the latest version.
About to try super cache to see if I get the same issue.
Any help out there?
Would need to look at your site, but it’s probably a garbage collection issue. has anyone here submitted a bug submission form from the support tab of the plugin before about this issue?
I have not submitted a bug submission. I will do so soon if you wish.
In the meantime if it is a garbage issue are there any setting or changes I can make to get closer to solving this issue?
Yes, please do submit.
I’m guessing that’s what the issue is based on what was communicated. If you could lower your garbage collection time on the page cache settings tab and also manually delete the files inside of the cache folder that would be great.
Thank you for the feedback…
1. What time would you suggest in seconds for the “garbage collection time”
2. I also do NOT have preload cache enabled, last time I tried it slowed down the site to a crawl. Anything you suggest for those setting? On/Off, update interval, pages per interval, etc
site has 2700 posts average 8000 visitors per day if that helps.
Try 3600 for a value. For preloading you might have to set it to preload fewer pages at once, which may default the purpose. Other suggestions require an actual review of the site as settings can be circumstantial.
1. 3600 is the default value, I’m trying 1200 for now.
2. What directory are the cache files stored?
