    We have several instances of a client’s site we use for development and staging purposes.

    We purchased and enabled the Pro version on our staging site. We are attempting to activate Pro on our dev sites and when we enter the license key it says it’s currently in use and directs us to add this line to wp-config:

    define(‘W3TC_PRO_DEV_MODE’, true);

    but that is not working – Pro features remain unavailable. Are we doing it wrong?

    Here’s the page where this feature is happily trumpeted:
    https://www.w3-edge.com/solutions/w3-total-cache-pro/
    (just find on “W3TC_PRO_DEV_MODE”)

    Several emails to the developer have gone unreplied to. Is there any way to get “pro support” since we’ve paid for pro?

    OK – we worked this out.

    Apparently you need to first add

    define(‘W3TC_PRO_DEV_MODE’, true);

    to wp-config. THEN you need to add (or re-add) the license key and save it. When you do you will get an error message, but it looks like you will get Pro access.

    Not exactly confidence inspiring but perhaps that’s too much to expect from a product that is apparently is still in beta (current version 0.9.7). With over a million installed users.
