Warning: WP Clone creates duplicate tables

I know that the plugin has not been updated for about 10 months, and it seems to have been abandoned. I just wanted to share something kind of scary: when looking at the WP database for any site that has been migrated or backed up and restored using WP Clone, we see multiple sets of tables with generated prefixes like wp8t_ or wpg9_ – so for example, one db shows wp8t_users and wpg9_users and wp_users. It seems that the newest ones are active and lack the prefixes.

The All In One WP Migration tool does not create these extra tables.

I just looked at eight databases on which we used WP Clone more than once, but many months ago. Not one of them shows this issue. My deduction is that the WP Clone plugin has become incompatible with the newer versions of WordPress.
