WC Database Update progress STUCK
-
Like title says.
Not sure what to do with this issue. The “Pending” keeps going up, and it’s been days/a week that it is still stuck.
Currently in Scheduled Actions:
All=127,460 Pending=126,154 Complete=1,187 In-progress=1 Failed=118

Hi there @gw2rewards
To help you further, I’d like to understand more about your setup.

If it helps in any way:
I made a staging website to try a few things (basically when I updated some plugins it gave me a critical error on all my website so I used a back-up), so I did update a few things on my staging website, and now the progress is slow but it’s “getting there” (there are still 32k pending after over 24h).
On my main website it’s the opposite: Pending and All keeps growing in numbers, which I find worrying.Hi @gw2rewards
Thanks for sending the System Status Report.
WC Version: 7.2.1 WC Database Version: 7.2.0Please update WooCommerce core as well as WooCommerce database by going to
WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Update Databaseto the latest release which was7.2.2.Pending: 157,514I can see that you have a lot of pending tasks on your site. If you could please provide the fatal error logs (if any) under
WooCommerce > Status > Logsas well?Thanks!
I tried again to update WC Plugin to the lastest version:
“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”So I just restored the website file backups (which didn’t solve the error).
Only when I restored database it did.Concerning fatal error logs here is the last I found:
https://gist.github.com/gw2rewards/80abd5f9c8b91d7e82118d63641c8268Howdy @gw2rewards
Thank you for sharing further information on this.
The stack trace in the error log points to the “StoreCustomizer: by Kaira – 2.4.6” plugin (line 218 in the gist file).
Could you go ahead with disabling it temporarily, and see if the issue persists, please?
Let us know how that goes.
I just did that and waiting for WC DB progress but it seems stuck or very slow. How long is it supposed to take? @anastas10s
Hi @gw2rewards
This could be due to the number of pending tasks on your site:
Pending: 157,514. Please look forwoocommerce_run_update_callbackand run this manually under WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions > Pending.Hope this helps!
So I did run it manually, there are several and duplicates… :/
Do you know what is going on? Seems like I’m on an infinite loop.Hi,
I can understand where you are coming from.
I’d suggest installing WP Crontrol, it is to help you monitor the cron jobs. It might help to narrow down what could be causing this issue.
You can also switch the site theme to Storefront, and disable all plugins except WooCommerce to run a database update one more time.
You can use the Meks Quick Plugin Disabler, to help you remember what plugins you currently have active so it’s easy to switch them back on.
I hope this helps.
Thank you @ihereira I just followed your advice. How long does it usually take to update all the WC DB?
Also, do I need to “clear” all the Pending tasks first before trying a new update?
There’s progress, but it’s very slow.In around 24h he only did 4k out of 183k files (still pending 174,000+)
That’s crazy slow, and my site is down meanwhile. Any idea? @ihereira @xue28 @anastas10s
I followed all the instructions above: Storefront theme. All plugins (except WC) desactivated.Hi,
do I need to “clear” all the Pending tasks first before trying a new update? You can refer to this article to get more information, Clear out pending actions safely, you can perform any change first on your staging site.
I hope this points you in the right direction.
Thank you @ihereira for your answer. Honestly I’ve been trying for hours to understand how I can run the plugin with code.
Is there any easier solution to this?
Reminder of my issue: I have 180,000+ pending tasks on my main website. It’ll take weeks to complete and there are tons of duplicate tasks.
I just want to clear and finalize the Database update (or cancel it… I never thought it would cause those problems.).
Right now I disabled all plugins and have Storefront theme (so my website is “down” and nothing works, which is a big issue for my business).
