WC transient data not being cleared up

I have a clients site running WC v2.3.8.

I’m doing some triage on their DB and there were 2.5million rows of WC sessions.

I’m new to WC, but I was under the impression this transient data should be cleared up in the CRON jobs?

I know there is the WC tool to do this job as well, but ideally it needs to be done automatically.

Any ideas on why this data isn’t being deleted?

Hey!

2.5 and on has some better management of Transients.

Have you confirmed that CRON is working on this site?

The plugin you mentioned is not a bad option if CRON is running as expected, which could be for more reasons than Cron is not working.

Well, you didn’t really answer my questions.

So, here they are in a more succinct format:
1. Should WooCommerce v2.3.8 automatically clear WC transient data, during the WP CRON tasks?
2. If the answer above is yes, how often do they get cleared out?

1. Yes, expired transients should be cleared by a Cron job
2. They should be cleared daily if Cron is functioning correctly

1. You can check using this plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-crontrol/
Go to Tools > Cron Events to see details. There you’ll also find an error at the top if one is present.
