I see a competitor like NitroPack.io offers WebP support with their basic features. This allows visitors a faster experience because the image sizes can be reduced significantly if there is a supporting browser. (There usually is – most browsers no support WebP). Also mobile devices will also benefit will page rendering due to the smaller image size WebP provides. It there plans for this? Nitropack is promoting this feature.

    Hi @kpbryce132,
This is a pure page caching plugin. For static file optimization, it is always recommended to use separate plugin specializes in that regards. If you are looking for image optimization, there any many options available.

For example, if you have a website with decent traffic, you can get Cloudflare Pro plan where you will get Cloudflare Polish that will provide unlimited image optimization along with WebP image format.

Alternatively, if you have lower traffic, you can consider using Optimole or Imagekit.io both of which has a good free tier plan and provide on the fly image optimization along with next-get image format like WebP.

Thank you for your quick response.

I have investigated some of those options. However, Nitropack.io has a free tier and has a suite of optimization integrated into one solution with dashboard controls. It will handle the WebP images dynamically and with no setup or maintenance required. For our needs this may be the best solution going forward.

    Hi @kpbryce132,
That is totally upto you, but considering the complexity of this plugin and as this is a pure page caching plugin, image optimization will not be added to this plugin.
