Hi
I wanted to check whether this plugin works, after checking many other plugin. But it is not working. Here’s the problem.

I have converted all images of a particular post to verify automatic redirection works or not. But its not working.

Wordpress version:5.7.2
Host: Bluehost
PHP version:7.4.20
Page having issue (only tried one):
https://www.debugpoint.com/2021/06/setup-internet-minimal-install-server/

The website hosted in a subfolder “blog”. i.e. http://www.abc.com/blog/wp-** etc etc.

The plugin added the redirect code in .htaccess under http://www.abc.com/blog/.htaccess

There is a main .htaccess on the parent http://www.abc.com/.htaccess where no change is done.

Is there any issue in the plugin? Or how to fix it?

Hi @arindamg,
I see multiple images being served as WebP on that page (around half of them), so it looks to b e working correctly.
And yes, that is normal for the .htaccess rules in the sub-folder to be affected rather than the parent directory. My main development site is also a sub-directory install and it works perfectly with that setup.

With the rewrite rules, there are no “redirects” and the URLs are not modified, so that the WebP image is served directly from the original JPG/PNG URL. You can see how to verify this in our docs (see the video): https://docs.ewww.io/article/16-ewww-io-and-webp-images
