    Hello,

I optimized all my Images within my Uploads Folder with a other Tool. The Tool created also Webp Versions of the Images. I activated yet EWWW again, and run a Webp Upgrade, the Migration is successfully done.

I just want to use now EWWW for newly uploaded Images compressing and Webp creation / Serving via JS Rewrite.

What do I have to activate under Webp Settings now:

    JPG/PNG to WebP
    JS WebP Rewriting

Do i have to run after a Bulk Optimization again?

    Thx
    Sally

    Hi Sally,

If the images already on your server already have webp, you don’t need to run a bulk optimization. With the settings you have, you should have a webp image generated for new images that you upload.

That having been said, should you need more assistance with this or anything else, can you please contact us via https://ewww.io/contact-us/

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,

thanks for the Information. I did a Bulk Run just to see, I get the Message that WebP Images are larger than original.., can I reoptimize now all Images again somehow with EWWW to get the webp Images smaller than Original jpgs?

    Thanks,
    Sally

    Hi Sally,

It won’t generate webp images if they are larger than the original image as it’s not going to work any better or faster (even if you re-optimize). If you would like to force it to generate webp images, you can do that. Should you need assistance with that, please contact us via https://ewww.io/contact-us/

    Thanks,
    Adam
