    I just had a look, but afraid I can only confirm the images indeed are not visible, probably due to the javascript not getting loaded (well, executed actually).

    Now the problem; as soon as Autoptimize is disabled (which you did) it cannot and does not do anything any more. It also does not change a comma in the original CSS/ JS, so that cannot be the problem either. So from AO’s point of view there’s nothing that I can advise you to do really.

    Thanks Frank. I have a backup, can you save me some time by suggesting which parts to replace to get it back to how it was before?

    I use NextGEN extensively, and all of the css for that has gone, how can I simply get back to where I was before I tried your plugin please?

    I’m afraid I have absolutely no idea. Let my give a highlevel overview of how AO works;

    1. it intercepts HTML as it is being created by wordpress
    2. it finds references to CSS & JS (inline and files)
    3. for each of those references it aggregates the code and removes the reference from the HTML
    4. the aggregated code is minified (and cached)
    5. a link to the minified aggregated code is injected in the HTML

    So as soon as you disable AO, no HTML interception is taking place any more and you really should be right back to where you were before you installed it.

    So the question is; why isn’t the NextGenGallery CSS (and JS, I presume) added to the HTML any more. Did some quick Googling, but nothing obvious popped up. You could try to disable & then re-enable NGG, or reinstall it or try the “reset options” in the “other options” screen maybe? If that doesn’t help, I could advice you to ask on the NextGen Gallery support forum as this is completely out of AO’s realm really …

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Mike;
    I saw you got this working. Mind filling me in on what did the trick, for future reference?

    Hi Frank,

    I simply deactivated the plugin, then reactivated it taking off the “Optimize JavaScript Code” bit, that was causing the conflict.

    By the way, did you want to try and explore why the JavaScript part of the plugin doesn’t work with my set-up?

    well, as per the troubleshooting-part of the FAQ, you would probably need to exclude some JS from optimization. looking at the HTML that would include (but might not be limited to) jquery.js, revslider/rs-plugin, ajaxRevslider.
