Website doesn’t remember last language used

Hello, I’m not sure if this can be done, but is it possible to save some kind of a variable for at least a registered user, to remember which language he uses?
At the moment if I go to my website, change the language, to lets say spanish (website.com/es/)
Then if I close the tab, go to the website.com again, it goes back to english, I want it to still be spanish
