Website First Byte Slower

Hello,
First of all, thank you very much for the great plugin. It made the switch to https so much easier. I have one question. I apologize if it was asked before. But, my website first byte speed (http://www.bytecheck.com) is soooo slow. It actually tripled. I had heard that switching to https would actually speed up my website. I am not sure if I did something wrong when implementing the plugin.

Hi @nikoneddie,
SSL does not make your site faster. The server will need to encrypt the data, the browser will need to decrypt it. That said, most sites will load fine over https, with negligible effect on speed.
Some tips that might help:
– Enable the .htaccess redirect in settings/ssl
– Measure speed without the redirect to httpsMore details can be found here:
