• Since I updated to WP 4.5, most of my plugins have caused my website to glitch – basically, it goes in and out of looking and functioning properly. I turned off all of my plugins and have about 3 that don’t cause the glitch. Every time I turn on other plugins, even ones that are compatible and updated for 4.5, i get the same issue. The website is ILoveGoodwill.org – the issues happens sporadically and goes in and out.

I looked at this file https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/read-this-first-wordpress-45-master-list and cleared my cache. Almost every plugin I turn back on causes the problem to come back. I also looked at this file: http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors and I get the error in Chrome and FireFox, so I know it is not just the browser.

I am not sure what to do at this point. Some of the plugins are not important and I can do without, but others are and I can’t turn them back on without the website looking funky.

    Any thoughts?

The common factor might be the theme.

Do you have the same problem with the three problem plugins active under the Twenty Sixteen theme?

I had not tried switching to 2016. I will do that – though I have been in contact with the Theme Developers and they think it is a Plugin issue. I find it hard to believe that almost all of my plugins are the problem.

I think it must be the theme – I switched to 2015 and problem went away. Switched back – problem came back. I have sent in a support ticket to the developer. Thanks for the suggestion!

I thought I had this fixed and 3 weeks later, I am still having the issue. I am not sure if it is WordPress or the theme. I have been working with the theme developers (Dante by Swift Ideas), who keep telling me it is a calendar plugin. Well, that plugin has been disabled for a week and I cleared my cache and I am still having this issue of the website not working properly on and off. I have deactivated all plugins (have 2 running now that are vital to functionality but the problem happened even with them deactivated). The site is ILoveGoodwill.org. The problems started when I updated to WP 4.5 and continued with the 4.5.1 update. I am at a loss here. I didn’t make any website changes or add any plugins immediately prior to the updates.

In this case, I have to refer you back to your theme’s support.

The problem was very clearly the theme itself based on your earlier replies, and it sounds like you just need to be firm with them stating that the plugins were not the problem.

That is what I figured. Thank you

I just re-uploaded the theme via FTP and now I am getting an error on the backend and can’t log into my dashboard:

    The ilovegoodwill.org page isn’t working
ilovegoodwill.org is currently unable to handle this request.
    HTTP ERROR 500

Ok, you’ll have to delete the theme you re-uploaded then. Assuming you still have Twenty Fifteen installed, your site will revert to that.

Then, definitely get in touch with your theme’s support. It sounds like there’s a lot they need to work out for you.

Thank you. I have been in touch with them, though lately they are slow to respond.

The only other thing I can suggest is that it might be time for a new theme: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/tags/responsive-layout/

Hoping to avoid that, but I was thinking the same thing…

I deleted and re-installed the theme files via FTP so at least I can get back in for now. Ugh.

Thank you for all of your help.
