• I recently installed an SSL certificate onto a client’s website.

After it was installed, I used Elementor to replace the http links with https links. After doing this, the website broke.

I was able to get the site to start loading via https, however the site is broken and content is not loading as it was designed.

Could you please advise why this may be happening and what we can do to fix it?

    Thanks you!

    suggestions:

    test your site:https://www.whynopadlock.com/

assuming the URL is set properly in the OPTIONS table of the database, you might need to use a plugin like Better Search Replace to check change and/or change other areas (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/better-search-replace/) for any leftover URLs that are still http.

If you used Elementor to change URLs, start a topic for Elementor plugin support for additional guidance – https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/elementor/

Alternatively, can you restore a recent backup and start the process over.

Note: When I look in the source code, I still see http instead of https

    In addition to lisa’s advice:

if using Elementor as the page builder, is the Elementor plugin activated?

Did you attempt to refresh Permalinks? Settings > Permalinks and Click “Save Changes“ without making any changes
