I’m not sure what you’re asking, but what happens when your site moves from staging to production seems like a question for your hosting provider.
Thanks for replying. The thing is that with my hosting provider I am able to have a live website with the actual domain name and a staging website at the same time on their server – this has a different name. This means that I can work on the staging site making changes without risking anything untoward. When the time comes, I’ll be able to replace the live website with the staging one with one click. This means that the staging website name will be automatically replaced with the actual domain name without me having to change it manually through search and replace. So my question is whether this automatic change of the website name will also apply to the setting I have in your plugin – I have to use the staging name in it. I hope I am making this clearer?
Again, I can’t speak to what your host will do. If they do a full search and replace of entries in the database, then they may change something related to the plugin. If they restrict their updates to just WordPress core settings then I would guess the plugin’s settings wouldn’t be affected.
Thank you. I am not sure if I understand correctly: I would assume that they would replace the staging website name, say “staging” to the actual domain name say “stage”, will this be reflected in the plugin settings I added as well?
Again, I don’t know what you’re hosting provider will do as part of the move from staging to the live site.
