• Hi. We currently have a ww.wp.xz.cn site, http://www.nsomusic.ca. Last week the site went down, and now when you type the URL it says site can’t be reached due to technical difficulties.

It seems to have happened around the time we did some updating on plugins for a Podcast, SEO optimization and for our event calendar.

We are actually in the process of migrating from a private server where this site is housed to wordpress.com and we have a designer doing some work on a new site for us. When ready in a few weeks we will migrate the content.

For the moment, a previous technical person who owns the server where the site is currently located, was able to take a look and told me that lilely a bad plugin took the whole works down by changing the CSS…which is missing which is why the screen displays white when accessed.

Also, the .httaccess file is missing too.

He suggested that the best thing might be to move this site now from his server to wordpress.com as that is where our new site will be and then overlay the new design.

    Any ideas???
    Help!!!

  • WordPress.com is not the same support team as ww.wp.xz.cn. ww.wp.xz.cn is a volunteer based support community. You will need to contact support over there for help or transfer to another server that support ww.wp.xz.cn sites. https://en.support.wordpress.com/

Also, note that WordPress.com has a lot of limitations that ww.wp.xz.cn wont have due to the fact that they are a managed WP host and run most of the sites on their server using a feature called Multisite.

Thanks yes. I contacted .com. We are planning to migrate there, but are currently on a private server. But as noted the site crashed, and I’m trying to find out how I can rebuild it OR strip some plugins which seemed to have caused the problem. WordPress.com suggested I would need to get help through .org at this point…

I think they are misunderstanding the problem… if you’re moving the website to .com they should be helping you.

As I suggested earlier you may be better off looking into transferring the site to a your own server that isn’t .com but someone like BlueHost or DreamHost.
