Website not loading

Hi,

I purchased a wordpress website and the owner transferred it to my godaddy hosting. Everything was fine and there were no issues.

However when I tried to add images to the blog post I was unable to do it, I search and was recommended the following:

wp-admin/options.php

change upload_path to wp-content-uploads

I did that and was able to upload image. However I am still finding it difficult to upload images and now after changing upload_path my website is down and either does not load or takes forever to load.

I am not an expert so will appreciate whatever help I can get.
