Website vs. Blog

    Downloaded the Responsive theme hoping I would get what was displayed. However, the theme is in blog format. Is there a way to either download the website-looking version or convert what I will work on to the website-looking version with what I have already downloaded? I’d love to just start off with what is being displayed on the “Responsive” page (the website version vs the blog version).

    You probably need to set a static home page – see:

    If the above instructions don’t work, you need to go to Appearance > Theme Options and click on Home Page. Then check the box for Enable Custom Front Page.

    So how do you turn off comments on only one or two pages? For example, I have a contact us page, which does not have a need for a comments section. Thanks, in advance, for any help you can offer!

    Edit each relevant Page or Post and check “Allow comments” in each case. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.

    “esmi” thank you! What I, and many WP novices, have been struggling with is the CONCEPT of turning on/off areas of functionality. Suddenly it makes sense that you have to turn on a functionality box, THEN turn off that functionality within that box.
