I was using your plugin on a site where many of the URLs changed. I had several hundred redirects entered, and I was saving them 20 or 30 at a time. All was going well.

Then, the screen went blank. The plugin screen, the Admin screen, and every page on the site.

I could FTP into the site, and deleted the plugin but still everything’s a blank white screen. I can’t get into the Admin area.

Any ideas? Kind of freaking out here.
    Thanks!

Followup: It seemed to be a memory thing. I went into wpconfig.php and increased the memory, and the site came back up.

    Another question, though:
The site in question was moved from one server to another and many webpages weren’t transferred.

I am getting 404s for (now non-existent) pages like this:
    http://www.example.com/orange%20lipstick/1.html

    Note the “%20” in it.

Let’s say I want to redirect that to http://www.example.com.

If I enter it in the request field in the plugin and test it, it redirects fine.

But if I enter the URL into my browser window, it doesn’t redirect. It goes to the 404 page.

I tried something else – I put the rewrite rule directly in the .htaccess and it didn’t work that way either. I suspect the “%20” is the issue.

Any ideas how to make this work? Thanks so much.

Hi Quanta, I will look into this. It has to do with url encoding (where spaces, or other special characters get escaped), perhaps there is a bug in the parsing when redirecting.

A new version will be out shortly and I will do my best to solve this one for you.

I believe these bugs have been solved for Versions 2.1.1+, thanks for the feedback!
