Hi! I am selling artifical turf in my store. There is few products, which you can order by dimensions. Turf weights 7kg/square meter. I also have weight based shipping plugin. I use Wc kalkulator in product pages to calculate prices in cm.

    1. Problem:
Because I use weight based shipping, I want real kilograms to those custom products, based on dimensions of order. How do i manage that? In woocommerce those custom products are just normal products and there I have placed weights, but those weights are like per square meters (7kg). If some client orders turf with dimensions 500cm x 500cm, it calculates shipping weight based on woocommerce products page (7kg). When it should be 175kg!
    2. Problem:
In shopping cart, those products prices are “default prices”. I mean 1 piece price (35€/square meter), even thought customer put dimensions 500cm x 500cm. It should be 875€. But in checkout, price is right. That’s because I use Wc kalkulator to count product prices from dimensions. But how I fix that?

Sorry I’m fresh guy with WordPress, so just learning. I’m using divi, if that matters…

  • Hi there @veivan4 👋

Thanks for reaching out to Woo Support!

    Weight based shipping

From what I gather, both of the problems listed are related with the functionality of the Wc kalkulator plugin. Feel free to reach out to its support channel about them, as they would be in a better position to assist you.

Nevertheless, the site’s needs, as described, sound like a perfect fit for the Price by Formula Calculator for WooCommerce plugin (linked here). Feel free to check it out.

Keep in mind, if you want to try our products, you can leverage our 30-day refund policy. In a nutshell, it gives you 30 days to try it out, and if the product doesn’t work the way you need or you think another product would work better, we are more than happy to offer a full refund. You’ll find the details of our refund policy here.

Hi! Thank you. I bought that plugin, but same problem again. Custom product price is no visible in cart page. I think that’s cause by Divi theme, because I installed Storefront and it worked.

Is there any solutions with divi?

This plugin works fine if I use [woocommerce_cart] in divi theme. Price is now visible in cart.

But how I manage that weight? Because I use weight based shipping and now I have custom products with custom dimensions. I know weight of m2 and I want to use it to calculate shipping.

    Hey!

I think that’s cause by Divi theme, because I installed Storefront and it worked. Is there any solutions with divi?

If it works correctly with Storefront, than you are correct, the problem must be with Divi.

Since divi is a third-party theme, we are not able to provide support for it. Please reach out to their support so they can assist you further with this.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

    Have a wonderful day!

Hi! I went back to storefront. But I can’t get weight information to shopping cart. So I use weight based shipping and it works correctly with simple and variable products weights. Even if I make formula and suffix is “kg”.

    Hello veivan4,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand that you have switched back to the Storefront theme, but are facing challenges with displaying weight information in the shopping cart, despite using weight-based shipping that functions correctly with both simple and variable product weights.

To assist you effectively, could you please provide a bit more detail on the issue you’re encountering? Specifically, when you say “I can’t get weight information to the shopping cart” are you referring to the visibility of weight information for products in the cart?

You can use a tool like https://snipboard.io/ to make screenshots to show us what you are seeing. Having a clearer picture of the exact problem will enable me to provide you with targeted assistance.

Once I have a better understanding of the issue, I’ll be in a much stronger position to help you resolve it.

Looking forward to your response. 🙂

    Best regards.

    Hi!

So, we sell artificial grass according to custom measurements. The price is determined according to the square meter price. The customer enters the measurements he wants (in cm) and the calculator calculates the square meters and multiplies by the price per square meter. It works well.

Then we invoice for the transport according to the weight. The square weight of the grass is 2.8 kg per square meter. If the customer orders a 10 square meter carpet, it weighs 28 kg. Then the price of the transport is determined according to that 28 kg. So I can’t get this to work. Weight based shipping works fine with other products, like variable and simple.

So, can I somehow get information from the counter to the shopping cart that this size grass weighs this much?

    Hey, @veivan4!

Thank you for clarifying. I also took a look at your website and simulated an order (without going through it) to check.

And from what I see the issue is that to calculate the price you are using a third-party plugin, Wc kalkulator, as you mentioned in the first message, and the information about the weight is not being processed.

This happens because, at the moment, there’s nothing (plugin, code, etc) that is sending or getting the information from Wc kalkulator.

This is not something you can do by default on Woo, so you would need custom code or a third-party plugin.

Have you already reached out to Wc kalkulator’s support to see if they have any suggestions on how to use the information their plugin is getting from the client to calculate the shipping?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi!

I don’t use wc kalkulator anymore, I use Price by Formula Calculator for WooCommerce plugin, which Pepe recommended.
