Weight based shipping question

    Dear Team,

    I want to configure weight based shipping that is always available beside to standard shipping.

    Key facts:

    • We offer Standard Shipping (4-7 days) and Express Shipping (3-4 days).
    • Customers are free to choose any of shipping option based on requirement since both shipping options are available to the customers.
    • Free Standard Shopping on cart value of Rs.299

    Example 1:

    When customer add product to cart worth of Rs.199 and of weight 0.400 grams then following shipping option should be available.

    • Standard Shipping (4-7 days): Rs.49
    • Express Shipping (2-4 days): Rs.79

    Example 2:

    When customer add product to cart worth of Rs.199 and of weight 0.500 grams then following shipping option should be available.

    • Standard Shipping (4-7 days): Rs.49
    • Express Shipping (2-4 days): Rs.125

    Example 2:

    When customer add product to cart worth of Rs.299 and of weight 0.500 grams then following shipping option should be available.

    • Standard Shipping (4-7 days): Free Delivery
    • Express Shipping (2-4 days): Rs.125

    Hi @pravinlpatel, the scenario you describe is possible to set up with our Flexible Shipping plugin.

    These are sample settings, based on the description you sent.

    1. I added two shipping methods to the shipping zone:
      • Standard Shipping (4-7 days)
      • Express Shipping (2-4 days)
    • Standard Shipping (4-7 days). If I understand correctly, the shipping cost for Standard Shipping is not dependent on the weight of the order. Flat fee: Rs.49 for orders below Rs.299, free shipping above that value:
    • Express Shipping (2-4 days). If I understand correctly, the shipping cost for Express Shipping is dependent on the weight of the order. Shipping cost of Rs.79 for orders below 0.499 kg, shipping cost of Rs.125 for orders that weigh above 0.500 kg:

    This is one of the most popular use cases for our plugin. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    I will test the config.

    Just want to quickly check if both shipping method is visible to the customer or not and this will allow customer to choose appropriate shipping method as per their urgency.

    Hi @pravinlpatel,

    Did you have a chance to test it? Did it work as intended?

    Based on the examples set by my colleague @tograczyk, it’s possible that both of the shipping methods will be visible at the checkout. E.i. for an order that costs Rs.200 and weights 0.4 kg, you should see:

    • Standard shipping: Rs.49
    • Express shipping: Rs.79

    The best way to verify if your new Flexible Shipping methods are triggered and shown correctly please enable Debug Mode.
