Weird Importing behavior

    Hey guys, I am new to wordpress but I do have some experience with writing code. I am working on a site for some intern hours through a christian organization and my school.

    I am trying to import everything from one site to my site and I am getting some weird results. I am hoping its something simple and the reason its giving me such a hard time is because Im a noobie.

    Whats happening is when I import everything from the other website into mine I am getting all the pages etc.. but the header of the main page does not change. I get the header and menu for all of the other pages associated with the other site and it seems to be working fine, all except the main page which is being stuck with the default header and no menu.

    I am setting it up as a static page and adding a child theme before I do the import but it isnt changing. Im almost to the point of giving up..its driving me crazy because of the little control I have compared to writing my own code, but I really need to learn WordPress because a lot of companies are using it and it will make me more employable. Also I am so new to WordPress that at this point I feel like getting this to import properly will be better for me than trying to build a new header and match it to the rest of the pages.

    If anyone has any suggestions or an answer to my problem please help me!

    Eh, Im an idiot. I just noticed that all of the content is importing properly except the header for all of the pages. Im guessing that is a separate thing Ill have to look into.

    I was thinking everything was fine except the main page because when I clicked the link it looked right but that was because I was going to the link that is right and not my own link…long night I guess.

    Im thinking now it will be easier to just build my own header.
