• I set the options to Aggregate CSS in the HTML, and I put in the above the fold css. When I did this, my speeds on Google skyrocketed but I saw odd things happening. For example, the site seemed to be loading significantly slower in my browser, and one of the site testers i use, https://website.grader.com/, seemed to be completely blocked from looking at my site.

Why would just changing the css of a page block something like that?

well, based on the HTML source of the demo-website, the theme doesn’t inline all CSS by default. so either it’s an theme option or it’s a plugin instead of the theme?

Hmm I don’t believe it’s a plugin. The only plugins I have that I think would influence css are Autoptimize and a plugin that allows custom css on individual pages. I don’t see any options that would do that but I’ll take another look. My only guess is that there’s an option that isn’t labelled saying it does that.

well, given the fact this is a premium theme, I would create a support ticket if I were you 🙂

Isn’t the theme apparently. They’re saying a caching plugin or minifying plugin. I use WP Super Cache. Could that be doing it?

wp super cache does not touch CSS. and your minifying plugin is AO and while that can inline all CSS, it does so in a very different manner. so it would have to be something else … ultimately you could try disabling plugins one at a time until you identify the culprit?
