Just installed the chatbot on my test page….. I hope OpenAI can add more capacity to their system or find some way to make it widely distributed so that the capacity issue goes away.

System:Error while calling OpenAI: The server is currently overloaded with other requests. Sorry about that! You can retry your request, or contact us through our help center at help.openai.com if the error persists.

Haha, yeah, I have seen this error a few times today too. It’s the way it is! The beta of ChatGPT will be away soon, and everyone will have to pay for it, have a very limited service, or… use the API (like we all do, by using this plugin). I believe there will be less issues.

In short, I believe this issue will only last a week or so maximum. To be honest, there are so many people using their servers right now, I am surprised it still work! Luckily they are backed by Microsoft now (but I believe they are still working on migrating everything to Azure Servers).

I hope everything transitions smoothly. I added the chatbot short code to just one page. Originally, I thought that the shortcode was making the bot appear on the site, but then I went to my homepage and it was there. I then realized the inject into site option was actually causing that.

I turned off the inject option and went back to my test page that only has the [mwai_chat] short code. I don’t see the bot icon. When I first setup the bot, the shortcode was much longer. But all I see now is “[mwai_chat]”. Is that a bug or does your code mask all the other parameters once they are saved?

Ahh. I see what happened. I clicked the set as default. When I unchecked it, I now see the longer shortcode. Here’s a dev suggestion. Create an interface where the longer shortcodes can be stored and then shortened to something like [mwai_chat_customer_service] or [mwai_building_designer]. That would make the codes more easily understood and also leverage editing the new shortcodes and seeing those changes across the instances.

So yeah, if you set your parameters as the new defaults parameters, you don’t need to re-enter them. If you do, it will just be an override 🙂

Most people only use only one chatbot, so I am not sure I want to make the Settings more complicated and overwhelming. But for sure, if there are really a lot of people asking for it, I might, but in my experience until now, I think it will confuse people 🙂 The builder is here mainly to present all the parameters and quickly be able to inject a chatbot on the whole website.

That said, I’ll make a Gutenberg block for it 🙂
