1. CloudPRNT and WebPRNT are quite different technologies, but both can be useful for printing from web based applications.
WebPRNT provides a web server built-in to the printer, applications (including web pages from a browser, using JavaScript) can send http/web messages to the printer directly. This is really fast, but usually requires that the printer and web browser are both connected to the same local network. So it is a good solution for local point of sale software that is web based.
CloudPRNT is a system in which the printer will communicate with a remote web server to report its status and receive print jobs. Therefore it can be a little slower, but the printer, web server and web browser can all be on different networks, as long as they have an internet connection. Therefore it is mostly useful for remote printing solutions, just as printing kitchen orders or warehouse tickets. However it is still fast enough that it can be a useful choice for point of sale solutions too.
All current CloudPRNT compatible printers also have WebPRNT support.
