I don’t know if it makes much sense – but I really like the idea!
You are right, this would mean to update the post – and therefore it would be necessary to scan all existing comments to collect all tags. On every saving of the post and also of any of the comments. Would slow down speed a bit.

Awesome plugin as it is.
How hard would it be to tag replies in comments, which then get added to the original post?
I assume it would be impossible as the original post would need to be updated.
