• I had the same troubles when I tried to install MT. I ended up paying them the money to do it for me.
What is being defined as the DB_NAME? The example is “wordpress”. Is this the directory where the files are located or a database you establish in MySQL? I made a new database in MySQL called “wp” so would I change “wordpress” to “wp”?
In MT the DB_HOST is /home/username/mysite.com/.database/mysql/mysql.sock however, this doesn’t seem to work with WordPress.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Yes – change it to ‘wp’
As for the ‘localhost’ setting .. have you tried that ?
    Do you have phpmyadmin ?
If so, login to that, and look for the bold black string of info at the top of the screen – it will say blah blah ‘running on’ and try whatever follows the @ symbol

Can you believe the DB_USER is “root”? I was using the username that I was given to log into MySQL. I looked at the config. file for MT and it had Database User=”Root”.
I changed the host to “wp”
I changed the user to “root”
    I’m up and running!
    Thanks everyone…..
